Had a great shoot in the sunshine back in July with dancer Charlotte Humprey, mixing the soft natural feel of her girly side in the outdoor shots with some dramatic studio shots, playing with movement (and a bit of powder!) and then exploring the more commercial side with some vibrant fun shots with a sporty edge.
I was recently commissioned to shoot a sports portfolio for an old client and friend Mandy Black who wanted to expand her portfolio, We shot out in Berkshire (a bit greener than London) and were thankful that weather was on our side!! A great day of running, cycling, jumping and (brrrrr…) swimming!
Here at the studio, I often have people coming by to help out, get experience, or just assist in any way they can, the most recent assistant i had in was Jonny Rowles, who was fantastic. Jonny is looking to join the RAF as a photographer, and was not only keen, but friendly and very intuitive. As is tradition with all my assistants, we did a couple of shots at the end for a bit of fun. Thanks Jonny!

Corporate Portrait – Richard Alvin, MD of Capital Business Media
by nicholas | 1 CommentIt was my great pleasure to shoot a 1940′s themed collection of photos for Louise and Gordon last summer, before Gordon went away to serve in the RAF abroad. We had an amazing shoot in Stoke Mandeville railway station, Buckinghamshire, one of the remaining truly quaint English train stations, and a place with real charm and atmosphere.
Despite having to vanish away some not so period looking lamp-posts and timetables, i’m really pleased with how the shots turned out, and congratulations Louise and Gordon on their recent engagement!
A few photos from a really fun shoot recently with Hannah and Rob, for pre-wedding engagement photo-session. Got so many good shots and these were just a few of my Faves…
A selection of frames from a recent commercial shoot we had in the studio, testing out the new 12foot seamless cyclorama wall. Really pleased with the results…

I was honoured to be commissioned by Christine Croshaw to take her portrait last year. Christine is a distinguished pianist and celebrated professor at Trinity College of Music, London. She has won numerous awards for her playing, and has had a successful career as a recording artist and solo pianist.
You can find out more about Christine HERE.
I was recently commissioned by Henry at Splash Design to shoot the new portraits for PR and research agency Wriglesworth Consultancy, for their new website. The breif was perfect; anti-corporate, fun and natural, showing that they are real people, friendly and approachable.
The shoot took place at their offices in Blackfriars, and ran very smoothly indeed, everyone was very relaxed and enthusiastic, a really lovely group of people and a pleasure to shoot.
Some shots from a shoot last year with fantastic singer-songwriter Nikki Rogers for her new album Once In A While. We shot out on Location in Kennington, South London and also in the freezing cold and snow in West London, Nicki is a true professional, and great to work with so we still managed to capture some stunning shots. You can listen and buy the album HERE and find out more about Nicki Rogers HERE
I was delighted last summer when actor and director Robert Forknall commisioned me to visit him in Kent at his family estate and dairy farm, to capture a collection of portraits and headshots.
Just when I thought the shoot couln’t get any better, out came the puppies to wrap up a great day. Thanks Rob…
