As part of the their Campaign ‘turn up he style, turn down the heat’, Global Cool asked us to photograph the steps of turning an old winter jumper in to an on trend piece. Who better to show us than Britains Next Top Model Judge and X factor Stylist Grace Woodward.
A few months after I shot Peter Dickson (voiceover man for X factor and E4) I had his client (Peter is a man of many talents and runs his own talent agency…) Lloyd Daniels in for a calendar shoot. Lloyd was in the final for X factor in 2009 and has since signed with a new agency, been touring the UK and has an album coming out in the Spring. Lloyd was great fun to work with and had a strong idea of what he wanted so he moved well in front of the camera. He knew his angles and we had great fun experimenting with his wardrobe! Of course, I couldn’t let him last the whole afternoon without doing my terrible Welsh accent or giving him an example of my own X factor voice! A great guy and I wish him all the best for the future. For more information, visit his official website
Last Sunday, we were lucky enough to be invited to shoot the Moet British Independent Film Awards. Created in 1998, the BIFA’s set out to celebrate achievement in independently funded British filmmaking, to honour new talent and to acknowledge promote British films. Many well known faces walked along the red carpet including directors Mike Leigh (Another Year), Gareth Edwards (Monsters) and Tom Hooper (The King’s Speech), and it was an honour to not only be in such close proximity to them but also be the official photographer and capture this well celebrated event. Tamsin Grieg (Tamara Drewe) Ruth Wilson (BBC Jane Eyre) and Rosamund Pike (Made in Dagenham) are just a small handful of the ladies who walked the red carpet towards the mini Moet bar looking gorgeous from head to toe. A small selection of the stars included Martin Freeman (The Office), Nick Moran (Lock Stock) and Joanne Froggart (Most Promising Newcomer award) who signed the 2ft tall Nebuchadnezzar champagne (that’s bigger than a Magnum!) which will be auctioned off for charity. The award ceremony was presented by Irish Actor James Nesbitt and Best Actor was sweeped up by the always charming Colin Firth (The King’s Speech) whilst Best Actress went to the radiant Carey Mulligan (Never Let Me Go). The beautiful yet quirky Helena Bonham Carter was crowned Best Supporting Actress (The King’s Speech). Best Director went to the extremely happy Gareth Edwards (Monsters) and Best Film was given to The King’s Speech. The whole night oozed with excitement for a shared passion of British Film. It was a night to feel proud to be British!
